Don Shoemaker ‘Swinger’ sling chair and ottoman, ca. 1965. Original handmade and signed exotic wood ‘swinger’ chair by Don Shoemaker with matching ottoman. This particular model is the more rare version with smaller armrests. As seen in this original catalog, this chair and ottoman are handmade and designed to hold together with pins rather than nails. Beautiful organic and sculptural design, the leather on this chair is original and in good condition with only slight wear. Retains all of the original hardware and markings. A beautiful example of Mexican Modernism made in Shoemaker’s own workshop, Senal S.A.
